This was a super fun project I did with my child's third grade class. I had them all draw a character from a unit they were doing about Greece. In addition to the main character drawing, I had them all make open and closed eye versions as well as open and closed mouth version. I photographed each drawing and cut them up in Photoshop. I assigned the mouth and eye positions to puppets in Adobe Character Animator and then recorded each child saying a line, which animated their puppet in real time with Character Animator's facial capture. I took each of those clips and layered them over a "freeze" (giant wall art) and did the post production in Adobe After Effects.
